A Lifetime Dedicated to Developing Versatility Excellence

A full-service equestrian facility located in central Canada, Versatility Ventures offers a full range of equine services including breeding, training and showing, coaching and clinics, judging and horses for sale.  Situated on 320 acres of beautiful prairie grasslands and just 15 minutes north of the Trans-Canada Highway at Gladstone, Manitoba, Versatility Ventures is the home of Wanda Asbenlieder and Doug McGonigal, and Marge Holsteine.

We breed Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas focusing on willing minds, correct conformation and outstanding athletic ability.

They grow up to be show horses, ranch horses and family horses.

While specializing in the Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa breeds we are not exclusive and we welcome and have successfully trained a diversity of horses and riders.

While we don't believe that competition and winning are the only measure of success in an equine program, we do believe that our accomplishments demonstrate our commitment to excellence and add credibility to the success of our program.

Our horses and students have excelled in everything from halter and rail classes, to dressage and over fences, to barrel racing and cattle events. They include Canada's first AQHA Youth Versatility Champion, World Show Qualifiers and Honor Roll Horses in the Open, Amateur and Youth Divisions, and earners of more than 400 National Championships, Futurity Wins, All-Arounds and High Point Awards.

We appreciate that our clients have many choices when it comes to their horses' lives.  O
ur goal is to bring out the best, not only in the horses we breed and train, but in the riders who own and love them.

We feel blessed and privileged to be able to work with horses every day, and it is our belief that with hard work, good horses, perseverance and God's help, great things are possible.

"Equestrian art, perhaps more than any other, is closely related to the wisdom of life.  Many of the same principles may be applied as a line of conduct to follow.  The horse teaches us self-control, constancy, and the ability to understand what goes on in the mind and the feelings of another creature, qualities that are important throughout our lives.  Moreover, from this relationship with his horse, the rider will learn that only kindness and mutual understanding will bring about achievements of highest perfection."   Alois Podhajsky
